COTTINGHAM:-One of the oldest families in Somerset Co., Maryland, was that of Cottingham, and our earliest marriage record is that of Thomas. The Cottinghams intermarried with the Lankfords, Gists, Adams, Wilson, Milbournes, Colbourns, Shockleys, Dixons, Townsends, Hammonds and Tilghmans.
